Step 1

After Arriving In Mumbai

After arriving in Mumbai at the age of 24, Mr. Sandip Parab dedicated himself to social service, working with organizations such as the All India Women Conference, the Committee for the Right to Housing (CRH), and Lotus Eye Hospital. His vision was to create a safe and dignified home for vulnerable individuals. Through extensive community work, he identified the need for comprehensive support systems, leading to initiatives focused on family reunification, rehabilitation, and staff development to strengthen the mission of Jeevan Anand Sanstha.

Step 2

Worked In The Slum Area

During this period, Mr. Sandip Parab worked extensively in Mumbai's slum communities, helping residents gain access to essential facilities such as water connections and sanitation services. While serving the urban poor, he encountered AIDS patients, orphaned children, and homeless individuals struggling without proper shelter, food, healthcare, or family support.

These experiences strengthened his commitment to social service and inspired initiatives focused on rehabilitation, healthcare assistance, family reunification, and improving the quality of life for vulnerable communities. His efforts laid a strong foundation for the humanitarian work that later became the mission of Jeevan Anand Sanstha.

Step 3

Destitute Senior Citizens

During this period, Mr. Sandip Parab realized that while many organizations focused on children and women, very few were working for destitute senior citizens. Witnessing elderly individuals living on the streets without shelter, healthcare, or family support inspired him to dedicate his efforts toward their rehabilitation and well-being.

Through counselling, medical assistance, rescue operations, and rehabilitation programs, the team helped vulnerable senior citizens regain dignity, security, and hope. These experiences strengthened the foundation for Jeevan Anand Sanstha's mission of serving neglected and homeless elders.

Step 4

Beginning Of Jeevan Anand Sanstha

Witnessing homeless and injured senior citizens suffering without timely medical care inspired Mr. Sandip Parab to bridge this critical gap. With a vision to provide dignity, care, and rehabilitation to the neglected, he laid the foundation of Jeevan Anand Sanstha.

Jeevan Anand Sanstha was established to support destitute individuals, orphaned children, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens through shelter, healthcare, rehabilitation, and sustainable livelihood initiatives, creating a safer and more dignified future for vulnerable communities.

Challenges

The JAS team continues working with destitute and homeless individuals by providing food, shelter, healthcare, and rehabilitation services in a safe and hygienic environment. Through rescue, rehabilitation, family reunification, and long-term care programs, JAS has positively impacted the lives of more than 450 destitute individuals and children.

Non-cooperation from police personnel.
Resistance from relatives in accepting senior citizens back home.
Limited support from civil society in resolving issues of the destitute.

JAS regularly conducts home visits, collection drives, awareness campaigns, and welfare programs for children and senior citizens. Educational support, healthcare services, rehabilitation assistance, and family support remain central to its mission.
